ABOUT US
Hi, my name is Kellsey!
Owner & Trainer
Background in animals
I have always had a crazy love for all animals but dogs were always my favorite! I followed this passion by working at vet clinics, animal sanctuaries and volunteering at shelters as well as doing therapy dog work at nursing homes. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and started training professionally right after.
My personal dogs
My dog, Ava has been an inspiration to me. Ava and I have trained in a little bit of everything over the last 7 years: tracking, advanced obedience, protection work, scent detection, canine good citizen, agility and plenty of goofy tricks. Even though she can do just about everything, who stops at just 1 dog? Not me! I now have 3 German Shepherds; Ava, Coda & Halle. I currently complete with all 3 in IGP and American Schutzhund.
Why did I choose pet dog training?
Through the working dog world, I have seen what amazing things dogs are capable of. The majority of pet dog owners don't know what their dog is capable of learning or how to go about reaching that potential. When I see a training dog for the first time, I see potential in them, not just their issues. When I see an owner stressed from their dog's behaviors, I also see the future relief and peace training will bring. Having the skill and knowledge to help owners and dogs live a peaceful and fun life together is why I picked this career path and started Elite Canine.
What is my favorite part?
Through our puppy programs, I am able to build up confident, social and obedience puppies while they are with me then show their owners how to continue to progress throughout their growth. I love puppy training so much but I love being able to help owners with stressful issues even more. You're probably thinking, "what could be better than playing with puppies all day?"
Quite often, I have owners come to me with a dog who doesn't stop jumping, drags them on leash or darts out doors and won't come back. The best part of my job isn't when the owner come after training and see the progress the dog has made when it doesn't jump, pull or run away. The best part of dog training are the tears in the eyes of the owners as their dog frolics in the yard off leash "with" them instead of running away from them. The smile on the owner's face while walking their dog with no tension on the leash. The relief when the owner doesn't have to brace themselves for impact when their dog greets them without jumping. These are the best moments of my job.
Your dog is capable of so much more, let me help you discover that potential.
Hi, I'm Mia!
I worked for Elite Canine as an assistant trainer for 3 years. Now I manage the store and grooming salon. I have always loved animals and had dogs, cats, and horses growing up. I love meeting all of your pups!
A few years ago I adopted my dog, Carter from a shelter. He came with a lot of reactivity and fear. Having him grew my interest in dog behavior and motivated me to understand dogs more in order to give him and other dogs a safe, comfortable, fulfilling life. I brought Carter and my other dog, Zoey to Kellsey and was so amazed by how much they developed through structured training. Since then, my husband and I have adopted our third dog, Reggie, who was actually a foster through Elite Canine Care.

I have my own dog named Elvis and a rabbit named Scout. I love spending time with my family, reading and snuggling my pets. I look forward to meeting all of you and taking the best care of your pets!
