BOARD & TRAIN PROGRAMS

Our board and trains are designed for owners who want to be able to communicate better with their dog and give their dogs the freedom they deserve. We strive to give your dog a happy and fulfilled lifestyle, healthy mindset and excellent obedience so you can navigate through distracting environments and every day distractions while maintaining control of your dog. There is so much your dog can learn but it does take a lot of time, skill and knowledge. That's what we are here for, let us help you build a harmonious relationship with your dog!

What is a board and train? Your dog stays with me at my home for 10 days - 4 weeks (weekends are optional). This allows us to work with your dog for multiple training sessions each day as well as play sessions, walks, household situations and fieldtrips.

All board and trains  include an e-collar (except puppy board & train), a brief consultation at drop off, a "go home" lesson, a place cot and lifetime support. See below for our different options.

All dogs must be current on the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper. Dogs must be in good health, free of fleas and ticks, on a monthly flea and tick preventative as well as a monthly parasite/heartworm preventative.

WHICH BOARD AND TRAIN PROGRAM IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Not sure how much training your dog needs? Below are some common situations that we see and which board and train we recommend based on those situations.

Your dog jumps on people, pulls, pushes out doors but is fine other than that. Or you have a young dog who just has normal puppy issues and needs to learn boundaries/structure and productive activities to mentally and physically stimulate.

A 10 day or 2 week program would work well for you!

Your dog is kind of crazy, you have a really hard time getting them to listen, come when called and understand when the correct time for play, rest and work is.

A 3 or 4 week board and train is best for you. We work on bad behaviors as well as helping you find the most fulfilling ways to provide mental and physical stimulation. We also show your dog how to be calm in the house or in specific situations that call for it.

You want to take your dog with you to stores/events, let them run/play off leash, learn all the obedience he/she can on and off leash so you can utilize it to give your dog the most fulfilling life.

A 4 week board and train is best for you. We work on getting dogs off leash, games like fetch and tug, proofing obedience in new environments and with as many distractions as possible.

Your dog is reactive towards dogs on walks and will lunge, growl, and bark or your dog is very fearful of new environments/people/dogs and needs to build up confidence and security.

A 4 week board and train is best for you. We like 4 weeks to work with any kind of reactivity because we want to get to the root of the problem, take it slow and re-teach foundational work. A 4 week program also allows us to take your dog to many new environments and set up unique situations.

DAY TRAIN

If a Board & Train is not right for you and your family, we can do a day train instead. Just like a board & train but your dog goes home with you each night and stays with you on the weekends! We may need more time with your dog if they are doing a Day Train instead of a Board & Train.

Must be able to drop off and pick up at our Platteville training facility.

Day Train program may not be right for all dogs.

All dogs must be current on the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper. Dogs must be in good health, free of fleas and ticks, on a monthly flea and tick preventative as well as a monthly parasite/heartworm preventative.
